The electric vehicle known as the Polestar 4 is becoming the Polestar 4 coupe for the 2027 model year.
The Swedish automaker has added the word “coupe” to the name to help differentiate it from the newly launched Polestar 4 SUV.
The two models are basically the same vehicle but with different rooflines. The Polestar 4 coupe has a coupe-like raked roofline, giving it an almost sedan-like appearance, while the Polestar 4 SUV has, as the name suggests, a more traditional boxy SUV roofline.
New name is not all that’s new
Polestar gave the EV more than just a new name.
The company said the vehicle has been upgraded with reworked chassis tuning that now offers improved agility and comfort.
The Rear motor and Dual motor variants get a recalibrated chassis equipped with high-capacity passive dampers, new spring and anti-roll bar specifications, and Polyurethane rebound stops that replace internal rebound coil-springs. The company said this gives the Polestar 4 coupe a more controlled ride in all conditions.
Its dynamics were also further sharpened by improvements to the steering precision, the company said.
The Polestar 4 coupe is the company’s quickest SUV with the dual-motor all-wheel-drive model offering a zero to 100 km/h sprint of 3.8 seconds.
Despite its quickness, the company said it offers the lowest carbon footprint of any Polestar – 20.7 tCO₂e for Dual motor cars and 19.8 tCO₂e for Rear motor cars.

New trim levels
The 2027 Polestar 4 coupe also has revised trim levels.
The new variants include the Rear motor, Dual motor, and Dual motor with Performance Pack.
