It will cost Canadian car buyers an extra 500 bones to get into the 2027 Mazda3 compared to the 2026 model.
Mazda Canada announced prices of the company’s compact car, which has a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $25,750 for the Mazda3 sedan and $26,500 for the Mazda3 Sport hatchback. Those are $500 increases.
New rear seat alert
Both the sedan and hatchback are picking up a standard rear seat alert for the 2027 model year. The system reminds you to check the back seat for occupants such as young children before walking away.
The rear seat alert is joining a comprehensive suite of i-Activsense safety safety features.
Other elements of the safety suite include Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Smart Brake Support Front, Lane-keep Assist System, Lane Departure Warning System, High Beam Control, Driver Attention Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring, and a rear-view camera.

Multiple trims and powertrains offered
The sedan and hatback offer a variety of powertrain options and trim choices.
The base GX grade comes standard with a Skyactiv-G 2.5-litre engine producing 186 hp and 186 lb.-ft. of torque. It has front-wheel drive and an automatic transmission.
The next-up GS model has the same powertrain while the GS with Luxury Package has optional i-Activ all-wheel drive.
From there, there’s the GT grade, which has the same powertrain choices as the GS, including available front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The one exception is that the Mazda3 Sport GT hatchback has an available six-speed manual transmission. This is the only version of the car that can be equipped with a stick shift. It’s also Canada’s cheapest four-door car with a stick.
Lastly, there’s the GT Turbo, which is only available with all-wheel drive and a more powerful engine. The Skyactiv-G 2.5T Dynamic Pressure Turbo produces 250 hp and 320 lb.-ft. of torque.
