Honda is launching Google Gemini on some vehicles in Canada.
Gemini, an AI assistant, will be available on certain Honda and Acura vehicles equipped with Google Built-in.
It is an upgrade to the Google Assistant that’s part of Google Built-in and offers increased hands-off functionality.
It is capable of engaging in more intelligent and conversational interactions with occupants by being able to maintain context between multiple exchanges.
Honda said this allows drivers to keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel, while Gemini takes care of vehicle functions as requested by the driver.
“Connected technology has become an important part of the driving experience for Canadian Honda customers,” said Emile Korkor, assistant vice president of Honda sales and marketing, in a news release. “The addition of Google Gemini reflects our commitment to offering intuitive technologies that help drivers stay connected, access information more naturally and make the most of every journey, while supporting a more convenient and confident driving experience.”
