The Polestar 4 will soon be available in two body styles.
The current Polestar 4 is an electric SUV with a coupe-like profile, giving it what looks like a raised sedan body style. It went on sale in Canada in mid-2025.
The Swedish electric vehicle maker announced a new version with a more traditional SUV profile will be joining the existing model.
The new model will be called the Polestar 4 SUV, while the existing version can be referred to as the Polestar 4 coupe.
The automaker promises the SUV version will offer more flexibility and practicality while maintaining the design, performance and sustainability of the coupe.
“Polestar 4 has quickly established itself as a favourite among our customers, and we’ve seen strong demand from drivers who want distinctive design and performance combined with great practicality. With Polestar 4 SUV, we’re building on that success by offering even more versatility, while staying true to the Polestar 4 character. Wrapped in a stunning design, this is a car I’ve been looking forward to sharing with the world,” Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller said in a news release.

New SUV promises lots of range

The automaker said the models are getting a returned chassis for a more refined driving experience.
The current Polestar 4 Long Range coupe with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive powertrain has 272 hp and a driving range of up to 499 kilometres, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive model gets 544 hp and up to 434 kilometres of range.
Polestar 4 SUV arriving in 2027
The automaker said sales of the Polestar 4 SUV will start in early 2027. The company did not specify if and when it will be sold in Canada, but said the new model would be available in a majority of Polestar markets.
Both the SUV and coupe versions of the Polestar 4 are made in Busan, South Korea.
