Canadians who want to snatch up one of the last BMW Z4 two-seat convertibles might want to buy one soon as the automaker is not importing any new ones here.
Your choices, however, will be down to what’s left on the dealer lots.
The Z4 is being discontinued at the end of the 2026 model year and production for the Canadian market has ended, BMW Canada confirmed to this blog.
The online configurator for the car also closed recently.
“New orders for the Z4 are indeed closed and there is no new production for Canada,” a spokesperson said via email.
BMW Canada further said the Z4 Final Edition cars were the last units that were built for Canada.
As for Canadian availability, whatever is left on dealer lots is what’s left of the Z4, if you’re searching for a brand-new car.
Z4 versions
The 2026 BMW Z4 is available with two powertrain choices.
The Z4 30i features a 2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 255 hp. It is offered with an automatic transmission only.
The Z4 M40i gets a 3-litre twin-turbo inline-six engine with 382 hp and can be had with an automatic or manual transmission.

What is the BMW Z4 Final Edition?
The send-off model, the Z4 Final Edition builds on the Z4 M40i and includes a host of unique elements.
The car gets an exclusive BMW Individual colour, a Frozen Black metallic paint. The car also gets high-gloss black trim on the mirror caps, kidney grille, lower air intake, air breathers and exhaust finishers.
It also gets a black soft top and red brake calipers on standard M Sport brakes.
Wheel and tire sizes are staggered. Up front, the car gets 19-inch double-spoke two-colour 800M wheels fitted with 255/35 R19 rubber. At the rear, the car rides on 20-inch wheels with 285/30 R20 tires.

Final Edition special chassis tuning
Z4 Final Edition cars fitted with a six-speed manual transmission also get special chassis tuning. Changes include unique auxiliary springs at the front and rear axles and a reinforced anti-roll bar clamp at the front.
Additionally, the mapping for electronic control of the rear dampers and the software for the variable sport steering are reconfigured.
Lastly, the traction control and M Sport differential get unique control logic.

Final Edition interior enhancements
On the inside, occupants will find contrasting red stitching, which can be found around the instrument panel, centre console, door panels and M Sport seats. The seat upholstery is made of Vernasca leather and Alcantara. The seatbelts get an M tricolour trim.
The car’s floor mats feature red piping, and the door sill plates are inscribed with “Z4 FINAL EDITION.”
The Final Edition also gets the Premium Enhanced Package, which includes a Harman Kardon surround sound system, as well as the Z4’s full range of safety, comfort and convenience features.
While the online configurator is closed, you can still get information about the car on the BMW Canada website.
