BMW is giving the X3 a few updates for the 2027 model year that should help keep the compact SUV a popular model within the automaker’s lineup.
The biggest change is the increase in power to the SUV’s available six-cylinder engine and the availability of a new Black Package.

More powerful straight six
The BMW X3 M50 xDrive, which is powered by a 3-litre TwinPower Turbo straight-six engine with 48-volt mild hybrid support, is getting a 45-hp power increase to 443 hp.
BMW said the 2027 BMW X3 M50 xDrive will sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. That time is reduced to 4.1 seconds with a one-foot rollout.

New Black Package
BMW is also offering a new Black Package, but it’s exclusive to the X3 M50 model.
This package gives the SUV new sporty appearance.
It gives the SUV exclusive 22-inch Polygon 1134 M Black light alloy wheels, and other wheels are available as an option.
The M Sport brakes get exclusive high-gloss black finish calipers decorated with a monochrome M logo.
M logos and badges are also finished in high-gloss black with a silver outline.
On the inside, the package gives the SUV black BMW Individual Alcantara around the driver’s side instrument panel, the area in front of the centre display and the smartphone tray.
The material is also used on the door trims and armrest in the centre console.
The M logo on the headrests in embossed on the Alcantara surface and the black Alcantara/Veganza seat covers get blue stitching and piping.
The black floor mats with black piping get a flag in M colours.
Certain control elements get embellished with BMW Individual CraftedClarity glass.
The M steering wheel gets a leather airbag impact absorber.
