Mazda Canada has lowered the starting prices of a pair of plug-in hybrid SUVs midway through the 2026 model year.
The adjusted prices give the 2026 CX-70 PHEV and 2026 CX-90 PHEV starting manufacturer’s suggested retail prices of a little less than $50,000.
“We know Canadians are increasingly focused on managing their everyday costs, including what they spend at the pump,” Mazda Canada president and CEO Amy Fleming said in a news release. “This update reflects our focus on making electrified driving more accessible, so more customers can experience the benefits of plug-in hybrid technology in a way that fits their lifestyle.”
Each of the CX-70 and CX-90 are available with mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, with the plug-in versions carrying higher prices. Now the price difference has shrunk.
New CX-70 PHEV and CX-90 PHEV prices
The lowered prices apply to the entry-level versions of both plug-in hybrid SUVs
The adjusted MSRPs are as follows:
- CX-70 PHEV GS-SC – $48,999, down from $52,750
- CX-90 PHEV GS – $49,999, down from $53,750
The MSRP doesn’t include various fees and levies, which typically add a few grand to the purchase price.
The new prices are in effect as of June 2.
The CX-70 is a midsize two-row SUV, while the CX-90 is a twin model but with three rows of seating.

Plug-in hybrid powertrains
The PHEV powertrain on the two SUVs pairs a 2.5-litre e-Skyactiv engine with a plug-in hybrid system producing 323 hp and 369 lb.-ft. of torque.
The CX-70 PHEV can travel up to 51 kilometres on electric power alone, while the CX-90 PHEV can do 42 kilometres.
Vehicles sold with a total purchase price of no more than $50,000 could also qualify for the Canadian government’s Electric Vehicle Affordability Program, which offers a rebate of up to $2,500 for the purchase or lease of a plug-in hybrid vehicle.
