Audi is set to get into the Escalade/Navigator game with a full-size SUV of its own, the Q9.

The automaker teased out a few details of the upcoming model, which promises to have a spacious interior with exclusive content.

The Audi Q9 will debut this summer, the company said.

Business-class comfort

Audi said the Q9 will offer maximum business-class comfort when selected in a six-seat layout, which will offer middle-row electrically adjustable captain’s chairs with active ventilation in both the seat and backrest.

A seven-seat layout will be available, providing three seats in the middle row, each of which can take a child seat and is partially power adjustable.

The front seats will have available ventilation and massage functionality.

Doors open at push of the button

A first in an Audi, the SUV will have doors that can operate electrically at the push of a button.

Audi said the open/close function is intuitive and effortless. It can be operated via the key, myAudi app, multimedia interface, the brake pedal or the seatbelt buckle.

The doors have a wide opening angle for easy entry and exit, and surround sensors prevent the doors from banging into nearby objects such as cars in neighbouring parking spots.

The system can also detect approaching cyclists to prevent hitting them.

Panoramic sunroof

The standard panoramic sunroof measures about 1.5 square metres and can be opened wide.

The sunroof has no conventional sun shade. The glass also has nine individually controllable segments that can be turned opaque at the push of a button.

The glass also reflects infrared light and blocks more than 99.5 per cent of UV radiation, Audi said.

When the car is parked, the glass turns opaque and when it is started again, the glass returns to its last setting.

The top-of-the-line Q9 will also have 84 LEDs in the roof with 30 available colours.

Tech and luxury features

Audi promises to load up the Q9 with luxury features.

An optional Bang & Olufsen sound system will offer 4D sound.

An available dynamic interaction light (IAL) can sync to the rhythm of the music.

Some of the upholstery options will include alpaca fibre wool, Dinamica microfiber, leather and leatherette blends, and Nappa leather.

Wait for the full reveal to happen during the summer of 2026.
