Hyundai Auto Canada and its charitable organization Hyundai Hope on Wheels were on a tear for the past few months visiting hospitals across the country with big cheques.

The company wrapped up its 2026 hospital gift-giving season with donations to a pair of Quebec hospitals.

Hyundai Canada donated a total of $433,500 to Fondation Charles-Bruneau in Quebec City and the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation in Montréal.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels pledged had set out to donate more than $4.1 million in 2026 toward pediatric cancer care, research and family support programs across Canada.

At each event, the organization held a handprint ceremony, during which children with cancer place their handprint on a special Hyundai vehicle.

CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation is the fundraising arm of Montreal’s CHU Sainte-Justine, the largest mother and child centre in Canada.

The donation includes $100,000 toward the hospital’s clinical research unit in hematology, oncology and immunology (URCHOI) and a $233,500 research grant awarded in partnership with the Canadian C17 Council to Dr. Sébastien Perreault, clinical researcher and neuro-oncologist.

Hyundai said the donations will help URCHOI advance innovative research, facilitate access to new treatments and strengthen the integration of clinical research into patient care.

More on Fondation Charles-Bruneau

Fondation Charles-Bruneau raises funds for pediatric hematology-oncology research in Quebec.

Hyundai’s $100,000 donation will support the foundation’s five-year, $50-million commitment to pediatric hematology-oncology research.

The organization’s fundraising supports Quebec’s pediatric university hospitals.

It committed raising $5.3 million for one university hospital, CHU de Québec-Université Laval, which has research projects focused on areas such as proteomics, personalized immunotherapy, predicting treatment-related complications, support for oral chemotherapy and medulloblastoma research.

“Behind every research project and every advancement in childhood cancer care is a child and a family hoping for a better outcome,” said Steve Flamand, president and CEO of Hyundai Canada, in a news release. “That is what makes our support for Fondation Charles-Bruneau and the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation so meaningful. We’re honoured to stand alongside the remarkable teams in Quebec City and Montréal who are working to give children facing cancer greater hope for the future.”
