Hyundai Hope on Wheels, the charitable arm of Hyundai Auto Canada, visited four hospitals recently, bearing gifts of $100,000 for each.

Each of the hospitals provides children’s cancer care.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels has pledged to donate more than $4.1 million in 2026 toward pediatric cancer care, research and family support programs across Canada.

IWK Foundation

On Sept. 29, Hyundai Canada announced it made donations to a pair of hospitals in Atlantic Canada.

The organization donated $100,000 to the IWK Foundation, which raises funds for IWK Health, a major women’s and children’s hospital and trauma centre in Halifax, N.S. The donation will help support the creation of a dedicated chemotherapy preparation area and the launch of a new clinical trials program there.

Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation

Another $100,000 went to the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation,

The donation will support the work of the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre in St. John’s, N.L., which treats children affected by cancer across Newfoundland and Labrador.

Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation

On Oct. 9, the company announced donations to two hospitals in Quebec.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels donated $100,000 to Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation in support of the Montreal Children’s Hospital.

The money will be used toward the purchase a new state-of-the-art tool that allows researchers to study cancer one cell at a time, without losing the “map” of how different cells are arranged within a tumour.

The 10x Genomics Spatial Biology Platform, a joint project between McGill University and the McGill University Health Centre, provides a view of cancerous tumours that allows researchers to see a clear picture of how cancer grows, spreads and responds to treatment.

Foundation CHUS Sherbrooke

Another $100,000 was donated to the Foundation CHUS Sherbrooke, which raises money for the University of Sherbrooke Cancer Research Institute in Sherbrooke.

The money will support the Fund for Pediatric Oncology in Sherbrooke. This endowment enables health-care teams to meet needs in the growing Eastern Townships and to maintain membership in the global Children’s Oncology Group consortium.

Partial proceeds of every new Hyundai sale in Canada goes toward Hyundai Hope on Wheels.
