Hyundai Auto Canada, its dealers and its charitable organization Hyundai Hope on Wheels have delivered more funds to pediatric oncology centres in Ontario.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels has committed to donating more than $4.1 million to children’s cancer care programs across the country.

As part of that journey, the organization recently stopped at several Ontario hospitals with children’s cancer programs to deliver some big cheques.

Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre

In early September, Hyundai Canada announced it visited the Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre where Hyundai Hope on Wheels held its signature handprint ceremony and delivered a donation for $100,000 to the Children’s Health Foundation.

Hyundai said the donation will support the construction of a new children’s hospital wing at Victoria Hospital in London. The new wing will help centralize pediatric oncology and pediatric cancer research, which will help to advance care and treatment for young patients.

Kingston General Hospital

On Sept. 15, the organization visited the Kingston General Hospital where it presented a $100,000 donation to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation.

This donation will support research infrastructure to enable the hospital’s clinical trials program and some supportive care studies, including a study that administers cryotherapy with slushies to help prevent mucositis.

Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario

Two days later, Hyundai Hope on Wheels visited the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa, where the organization donated $100,000 to the CHEO Foundation.

This donation will support CHEO’s pediatric health centre in Ottawa.

How does Hyundai raise money for hospitals?

A portion of the proceeds from every new Hyundai vehicle sold in Canada goes to Hyundai Hope on Wheels in support of the effort to support children’s oncology programs across the country.
