The Ferrari F80 has arrived in Canada.
The F80 is the Italian automaker’s latest and limited-run halo car. It is a road-legal hypercar and the most powerful Ferrari to date.
It sports a hybrid powertrain with a mid-engine layout producing a total output of 1,184 hp.
Two Canadian Ferrari dealers have shared their F80’s recent arrivals on social media, one appearing in Vancouver, B.C., and the other in Montreal, Que.
On Sept. 1, Ferrari of Vancouver posted on Instagram moving shots of the F80 inside the dealership.
Then on Sept. 11, Ferrari of Quebec posted images on Instagram of an F80 arrival featuring an exterior finished in Grigio Granito fading into Blu Torrice, and a Blu Eletricco Alcantara interior.
What makes the Ferrari F80 so special?
As Ferrari’s latest halo model, the F80 is produced in limited numbers, with just 799 examples planned to be sold during its entire run. It follows in the footsteps of other iconic Ferraris, including the GTO, F40 and LaFerrari.
The car features a hybrid-electric powertrain featuring a 3-litre V6 engine and three electric motors producing a combined 1,200 CV, or 1,184 North American horses. Power is diverted to the wheels via an eight-speed dual clutch transmission. Thanks to a pair of electric motors sending power to the front axle, the F80 benefits from all-wheel drive. The third motor sends power to the rear wheels.
Besides being the most powerful road-going Ferrari yet, it’s also got dynamics made for the track.
The car produces 1,000 kilograms of downforce at 250 km/h, the highest of any road-going Ferrari yet.
Ferrari provided performance figures for the F80.
Performance numbers include:
- Maximum speed – 350 km/h (217 mph)
- 0–100 km/h – 2.15 seconds
- 0–200 km/h – 5.75 seconds
- 100-0 km/h – 28 metres
- 200-0 km/h – 98 metres
Interior has 1+ layout
The F80’s cockpit features a unique 1+ layout.
There are two seats, but everything is centred entirely around the driver, from the interior design layout, to the control panels and more.
The passenger seat is integrated into the trim of the cabin in such a way that it almost disappears from view, Ferrari says. The two seats are even different colours.
Ferrari hasn’t provided a price but various media reports suggest the car starts at more than $4 million Canadian.
