Kia will now have the two lowest-priced electric vehicles in Canada after launching its latest EV for the 2027 model year.

The 2027 Kia EV3 is launching with a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $36,995, Kia Canada announced Aug. 13.

That’s $2,000 cheaper than the 2026 EV4, which had the lowest MSRP of any EV in 2026.

Keep in mind, while the new EV3 claims the lowest MSRP title – as of this writing anyway – several automakers have been offering steep discounts on their EVs that have pushed their starting prices even lower.

About the EV3

The new EV3 is a subcompact SUV and it’s available with two battery options. The entry-level model has an 58.3-kWh battery pack, while all others get an 81.4-kWh unit.

Models with front-wheel drive have a single-motor powertrain with 201 hp and 209 lb.-ft. of torque, while all-wheel-drive models have a dual-motor powertrain with 262 hp and 284 lb.-ft. of torque. The range-topping GT model increases the power output to 288 hp and 345 lb.-ft. of torque.

EV3’s range

The base model, Light FWD, with the smaller battery has a Natural Resources Canada-certified estimated range of up to 356 kilometres on a full charge.

Models with the larger battery and front-wheel drive get an NRCan-estimated driving range of up to 517 kilometres and models with all-wheel drive get a range rating up to 451 kilometres.

Moving up to the lowest-priced version with the larger battery, Wind FWD, raises the starting MSRP to $40,995, and the entry-level model with all-wheel drive has a starting MSRP of $43,495.

The EV3 is the third of three low-cost electric vehicles Kia said it would launch in Canada. The other two, the EV4 and EV5, are already available.

The EV3 will be available at Canadian dealerships starting this month (August 2026). The online configurator is now open on the Kia Canada website.
