Genesis has announced the Canadian price of the company’s first road-going production Magma high-performance vehicle.

The 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma has a starting Canadian manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $99,500, including destination charges.

The new vehicle is a high-performance version of the GV60, the Korean luxury automaker’s compact electric SUV. The standard 2026 GV60 starts at $84,142 for the Sport grade.

Price includes valet service and more

Like every other new Genesis sold in Canada, the GV60 Magma includes up to five years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, at-home valet service, 24-7 roadside assistance, Genesis Connected Services and a comprehensive warranty.

GV60 Magma powertrain

The GV60 Magma uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive electric powertrain with the front motor producing 166 kW and the rear producing 282 kW.

In Boost Mode, which gives the vehicle a temporary boost of power, the system produces up to 641 hp and 583 lb.-ft. of torque.

A regular GV60, which also has a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, produces 429 hp, which increases to 483 hp in Boost Mode, and it has 516 lb.-ft. of torque.

More power equals less range

The GV60 Magma uses the same 84-kWh lithium-ion battery as the regular GV60, and with the added power, it gives up some range.

The GV60 Magma has a Natural Resources Canada-rated estimated range of 357 kilometres. That’s down from the 406-kilometre range on the GV60.

Magma has more than just more power

Besides the power increase over the regular GV60, the Magma model also has a more aggressive design.

It features a wider, lower stance and has unique aerodynamic enhancements such as canards on the front bumper, garnishes and breathers on the fender and a winglet-style rear spoiler.

It rides on exclusive 21-inch forged wheels and wider tires, which enhance grip for improved stability and control.

The EV also has virtual “gear shifting” to recreate that sports car feeling, a variety of drive modes, including Drift Mode, and simulated engine sounds.

Interior focuses on sportiness

On the inside, the EV has performance bucket seats wrapped in Obsidian Black suede with Magma Orange stitching.

The suede also appears on various touch points of the cabin, including the door trims and centre-console armrest.

Magma-exclusive alloy pedals and a three-circle performance display add another sporty touch.

The steering wheel has Boost and Magma Mode buttons for quick drive mode selection.

The GV60 Magma is available in four colours: Magma Orange, Uyuni White, Vik Black and Makalu Gray Matte.

The performance EV is expected to be available at Canadian Genesis dealerships by the end of November.
