Some people want performance cars just to be seen in them. Others just want the performance without the show.
Hyundai is giving the latter group just such a choice with the launch of the Elantra N Monochrome.
The 2027 Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome will launch in Korea, Canada and Australia at first while other global markets will get it later.
The purpose of the new Monochrome model is to offer Hyundai N levels of performance but with a restrained design.
The understated appearance appears on the exterior and interior of the car.

Key features of Elantra N Monochrome
Key elements of the Elantra N Monochrome include:
- Monochromatic-themed exterior and body-color details
- Newly designed forged wheels
- Revised details across the front and rear bumpers, side sills, brake calipers, and rear diffuser
- Carbon-fibre rear spoiler and mirrors
- Performance-focused interior treatment, including a Monochrome-only Alcantara steering wheel with buttons finished in black
- Alcantara materials used on select interior components

Two colours to choose from
Hyundai N models don’t typically offer many colour choices and the Monochrome car offers even less than usual, just two.
You can select Abyss Black Pearl or Performance Blue, and that’s subject to market availability – so no guarantee Canada will get both colour options.

Two trim choices to pick from
The Elantra N Monochrome will also be offered in two versions, Basic Trim and Upper Trim.
The Basic Trim features a black-themed design and Alcantara interior materials.
The Upper Trim includes a carbon-fibre rear spoiler and mirrors.

“The Elantra N Monochrome captures the essence of Hyundai N’s motorsport history and commitment to high-performance culture in a restrained package. Having listened to customers’ voices for a toned-down high-performance model, we restrained visual emphases and focused on form, texture and material to create a monochromatic rendition of the Elantra N that is understated, yet undeniably N,” said Joon Park, VP and head of N Management Group, Hyundai Motor Company, in a news release.
The Elantra N is a high-performance version of the Elantra compact sedan. It is powered by a turbocharged 2-litre four-cylinder engine with 276 hp and 289 lb.-ft. of torque.
It has front-wheel drive.
Buyers can choose either an automatic or six-speed automatic transmission.

Availability and price
The 2027 Elantra N Monochrome is launching in Korea first, going to market this month (October 2026) while Canada and Australia will get it after.
Canadian market specification and pricing will be announced later.
