Trailhunter package

The 2027 Sequoia picks up an available Trailhunter package, which is intended for buyers who want to hit the trails.

The package is based on the SR5 trim of the Sequoia and adds Michelin LTX Trail 265/70R18 tires, an Old Man Emu upgraded suspension, front recovery hooks and additional underbody protection.

The Trailhunter package also includes Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control and a locking rear differential, to help provide improved control and traction in overlanding conditions.

Unique bronze-coloured wheels and Trailhunter badges help the model stand out as well.

Updated front-end design

Toyota also updated the front end of the full-size SUV.

Some grades of the full-size SUV pick up a new bright chrome finish.

The grille and bumper get a new treatment, and rectangular fog lights are now integrated into the bumper. The centre lower bumper is also updated.

Toyota said it set out to give the front end a refined look without losing its adventurous appearance.

New lights

Toyota also improved the outer lights of the Sequoia.

An updated grille-mounted LED light bar offers more light and available RIGID fog lights offer increased lighting.

Updated technology

The 2027 Sequoia picks up the latest version of the Toyota Multimedia system, which is meant to be more intuitive with a smartphone-like design with customizable widgets.

The voice assistant also offers faster responses.

The 14-inch screen, previously available on some trims, is now standard across the board.

The system also has a standard built-in Drive Recorded that can use the vehicle’s cameras to capture 20-second clips.

Digital Key functionality is updated, which now allows drivers to manage features such as locking, unlocking, starting and operating the vehicle via a smartphone’s native wallet app.

A nifty feature of the Sequoia is a 2.4-kW inverter that comes in useful when camping, if you need a power outlet to power electric devices.
