The Toyota Supra is once again sold out and discontinued in Canada.

Toyota Canada confirmed to this blog that it has sold out of the 2026 Toyota GR Supra.

That was the final model year of the fifth-generation sports car and there are no more units coming to Canada. A sixth-gen car has not been announced.

Canadians are saying goodbye to the Supra 30 years after they did so previously.

The fourth-generation (Mk4) Supra, which was produced for global markets through to 2002, was pulled from the Canadian market in 1996 due declining sports car sales here.

Canada would not see another new Supra until the Mk5 version arrived for the 2020 model year.

Toyota Supra MkV a twin of BMW Z4

The fifth-gen GR Supra was developed in a collaboration between Toyota and BMW and is a mechanical twin of the BMW Z4.

Both cars offered BMW’s four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines and transmissions. The four-cylinder cars had an automatic-only setup while the six-cylinder cars could be had with either a manual or automatic transmission.

For the last two years of its production, the Supra could only be had with the six-cylinder engine in Canada. The 3-litre twin-scroll turbocharged inline-six engine produced 382 hp and 369 lb.-ft. of torque.

Final Edition

For the final year of production, Toyota offered a limited-edition version of the car, the 2026 GR Supra MkV Final Edition, which was limited to just 25 units for Canada. All Final Edition cars in Canada came with the with GT4 Style Pack and Premium Paint package.

The Final Edition carried a $20,132 price premium over the base model, coming in with a selling price of $86,507, with fees and levies included, according to the Toyota Canada configurator.

BMW also offered a Final Edition for the final model year of the Z4. BMW Canada closed the Z4 configurator on its website back in June. At the time, BMW Canada told this blog that it had stopped importing new Z4s into Canada and what was left on dealer lots was all that would be available.
