Porsche Canada is burning through its stockpile of brand-new Boxsters

Porsche ended production of the 718 Boxster and Cayman twins in late-2025 but a healthy inventory has allowed the company to keep selling them well into 2026.

If you’re on the fence about buying a brand-new Porsche Boxster now may be the time to take the leap because time is not on your side.

Porsche Cars Canada has released its first half of 2026 sales numbers, which reveal the company has managed to sell quite a few brand-new 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman cars, 115 in fact.

That may not seem like a lot, but considering the 718 twins were discontinued at the end of the 2025 model year and went out of production late last year, those sales figures point to a steady flow of them heading out of dealer lots.

Through the first six months of the year, Porsche Cars Canada sold 64 Boxster and 51 Cayman models.

Are there still 718 Boxsters and Caymans left?

Fortunately for aficionados of the two-seat sports cars, there are still a few brand-new examples left at Canadian dealerships.

As of July 9, Porsche’s online search and find tool shows there are still 21 new examples left in Canada, with a mix of base, S and RS versions to choose from of both the coupe and convertible.

About the cars

The 718 Cayman and Boxster are mid-engine sports cars. The Boxster is a convertible while the Cayman is a coupe with the two models sharing mechanics. They were produced with a six-speed manual transmission as well as a PDK automatic. The examples advertised as still available in Canada offer a mix of manual and automatic transmission choices.

The base model 718 Cayman and Boxster have a powertrain with 295 hp, the Cayman/Boxster S models up that to 345 hp, while the Spyder RS and Cayman GT4 RS get 493 hp.

Full model details are available on the Porsche website.

Porsche Canada sales totals

The 718 twins represent a small fraction of Porsche Cars Canada’s overall sales.

Through the first six months, the company sold 4,700 vehicles, a decrease of 3.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2025.

The top-selling models were Macan with 1,890 units moved, 911 with 1,349 sales and Cayenne with 1,128 sales.
