Porsche broke two lap records at Germany’s famous Nürburgring Nordschleife race track in a single run, taking them back from a pair of Chinese electric cars, the automaker announced May 7.
The automaker claimed the quickest Nordschleife lap time for production EVs and four-door vehicles.
Porsche test driver Lars Kern drove the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package and the Manthey Kit in a lap time of 6:55.533 minutes.
That makes it the fastest production EV at the track, beating out the Yangwang U9 Xtreme‘s time of 6:59.157 minutes, which was set in 2025.
It also beat the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra‘s run time of 7:05.298 minutes, which was also set in 2025, making the Porsche the fastest four-door car at the track. The Xiaomi had also briefly been the quickest EV at the track until the Yangwang surpassed it.
About the Taycan Turbo GT
The Taycan Turbo GT is a high-performance electric four-door car. It has 1,019 hp when using launch control, allowing it to blast from standstill to 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds.
The Weissach Package is an optional factory package that improves the car’s performance even further. It also drops the zero to 100 km/h sprint time to 2.2 seconds.

About the Manthey Kit
The new Manthey Kit was developed by the Porsche development centre in Weissach and the folks from Manthey Racing, a German auto racing team co-owned by Porsche AG.
It further enhances the performance of the car.
The launch control horsepower is unchanged, but the kit increases power output in typical operation.
Standard horsepower is boosted to 805 hp from 777 hp. In Attack Mode, which is available for a 10-second burst, power rises to 979 hp from 939 hp.
Kearn was able to shave 12 seconds from his previous Nordschleife lap time, set in October 2023, when he drove the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package, but without the Manthey Kit.
“The Manthey Kit turns the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package into the ultimate track tool. On the Nordschleife, you can feel how much more stability and confidence the car offers in fast sections and when braking,” Kern said in a news release. “Thanks to the significantly enhanced aerodynamics, tires with even greater performance, and increased overboost power available at the touch of a button, we were able to beat our previous best times.”
Porsche said the Manthey Kit gives the car increased aerodynamic downforce, a modified suspension, retuned driving dynamics, lightweight wheels fitted with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tires, and the aforementioned power increase.
The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is available in Canada and has a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $270,700. With fees, levies and luxury tax, that brings the starting price to $304,189. Porsche did not say how much the Manthey Kit costs.
