Canadian automotive buyers will have several vehicle options in 2026 that aren’t available in the United States.

While this is not unheard of, it doesn’t happen too often as Canadian vehicle homologation is often dependent on vehicles being approved for the U.S.

So, let’s explore some of the exclusive vehicles and semi-exclusive models coming to Canada for 2026, but skipping the U.S.

Nissan Ariya

The Nissan Ariya (pictured up top) is an electric compact crossover SUV. It was available in the U.S. until Nissan discontinued it there for 2026 model year, coinciding with the launch of the all-new Leaf EV.

But, Nissan is continuing to offer it here alongside the all-new Leaf.

There are various powertrain and battery options, but the base model with front-wheel drive has a range of 348 kilometres.

Standard features include 19-inch alloy wheels with aero wheel covers, front and rear capacitive door handles with approach unlock and walk-away lock, front and rear heated seats, a 12.3-inch drive-assist display and more.

Canadian pricing for the 2026 Ariya starts at $55,830 (MSRP of $52,898 plus fees and levies.)

Full model details are available on the Nissan Canada website.

Capricorn 01 Zagato

Capricorn 01 Zagato

The Capricorn 01 Zagato is a bit of a stretch on this list as this low-volume hypercar is not exactly sold in Canada.

But it is road legal here as it was homologated for Canada, but not for the U.S. That means Canadians can buy one, insure it and legally drive it on our roads.

Americans, if they really wanted one, could import it into the U.S. through that country’s “Show or Display” regulation, but that limits just how much and where owners can drive such a car.

The 01 Zagato is limited to just 19 cars worldwide, with production commencing in the first half of 2026. The starting price is 2.95 million euros ($4.75 million Canadian).

The lightweight mid-engine sports car is powered by a Ford-sourced 5.2-litre supercharged V8 engine, which Capricorn modified to spin up to 9,000 rpm and produce more than than 900 PS (887 hp), though the final figure is subject to final homologation results. The motor also produces 1,000 Nm (737 lb.-ft.) of torque, and the car weighs less than 1,200 kilograms (2,645 pounds).

Perhaps the best part of the car, it has a manual transmission, a dogleg five-speed unit.

More information is available on the company’s website.

Other Canada-U.S. vehicle differences

While the above examples are unique vehicle offerings available to Canadians, there are some other fun market differences between our two nations.

One such difference is that the Mitsubishi RVR is called the Outlander Sport in the U.S.

In another example, Chrysler has a trio of minivans. The Pacifica is a more upscale model available on both sides of the border, while a less-expensive version of it is sold as the Grand Caravan in Canada and the Voyager in the U.S.

Another fun difference is the Kia Sportage. It has the same name and same spelling on both sides of the border, but here in Canada it has a French-sounding pronunciation (Spor-tahzh), kinda how we say portage, versus the U.S. pronunciation (Sport-ij), which rhymes with shortage.
