The newly revealed 2027 Hyundai Tucson will introduce the automaker’s latest infotainment system to Canada.

Hyundai Auto Canada said its Pleos Connect system will be introduced here in the 2027 Tucson.

Pleos Connect is based around a new Android Automotive OS.

It is described as offering a more intuitive, safe and personalized in-vehicle experience.

The system includes an available Gleo AI in-vehicle virtual assistant. It can also take over-the-air updates so that it can remain up to date even as the car gets older.

Of course, it has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

Hyundai said the platform has a driver-friendly interface, available advanced navigation, available artificial intelligence-powered voice interaction and an open app ecosystem.

Pleos Connect was developed by 42dot, Hyundai Motor Group’s global software centre.

“Pleos Connect represents a fundamental shift in how customers experience their vehicles over time,” said Eric Wood, senior vice president of product experience, 42dot, in a news release.

“Built on a software-defined vehicle architecture, Pleos Connect is designed to enable continuous value evolution through over-the-air updates, advanced AI capabilities and an open ecosystem that allows new services and experiences to be added throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle. Rather than viewing the vehicle as a product that is complete at delivery, we see it as a platform that can adapt, improve and become more personalized over time.”

Screen size and resolution

The Hyundai Tucson features Pleos Connect available in two screen sizes, 12.9 and 17 inches.

Both have a 16:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 2560-by-1440 pixels.

Standard on the Tucson is also a 9.9-inch slim driver display above the steering wheel.

Hyundai hasn’t announced a Canadian launch date for the 2027 Tucson.
