Land Rover has revealed the first-ever Range Rover Electric, which offers big power and big range.
Range Rover is the British automaker’s luxury line of SUVs.
The company says the Range Rover Electric is quieter, more responsive, more effortless and offers more torque than any Range Rover to date.

Powertrain
The EV gets a dual-motor powertrain featuring a pair of 260-kW permanent magnet electric motors.
Combined, the system produces 542 hp (550 PS) and 627 lb.-ft. (850 Nm) of torque.
Zero to 100 km/h will arrive in 4.5 seconds, the company said.

Battery and range
The automaker fitted the electric SUV with an 800-volt double-stack lithium-ion battery pack with a usable capacity of 118 kWh.
Based on the European-observed and optimistic WLTP test cycle, Land Rover estimates a driving range of 598 kilometres on a charge.
On a more “rear world” test, Land Rover estimates a range of 535 kilometres.
The SUV is also capable of DC fast-charging speeds of up to 350 kW, which should be good enough to give it a boost from 10 to 80 per cent in 22 minutes.
In North America, the Range Rover Electric gets a standard North American Charging Standard charge port, enabling it to charge at Tesla Superchargers and other networks that use the NACS chargers.

Off-road chops
The Range Rover Electric is a luxury vehicle, but it offers off-road capability too.
Intelligent Driveline Dynamics can distribute rear torque from 100 to zero per cent, depending on need, to prevent traction loss, and an integrated traction management system controls motor speed within 50 milliseconds. Land Rover said the traction management system can manage slip up to 100 times quicker than an equivalent vehicle with an internal combustion engine.
The SUV can manage a pull away angle up to 33 degrees and a rolling climb ascend up to 45 degrees.

Connect with an app
The vehicle can always be connected to clients via the Range Rover App. Owners can use the app to start vehicle functions such as cabin purification, heat the steering wheel, check where the vehicle is parked or if it is locked, charge status and more.
You can also use the app to set charge times to make sure it charges during lowest-rate times.

Availability and Canadian price
The Range Rover Electric is now available to order.
Customers can also use the Range Rover Bespoke commissioning service to tailor their vehicle to their preferences.
The 2027 Range Rover Electric First Edition has a starting Canadian manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $200,800. Once fees, levies and luxury tax are applied, the vehicle comes to a starting price of $229,746.
