When Ford announced its Kentucky plant would produce the company’s low-cost electric vehicles such as the upcoming Fathom pickup truck, it was supposed to be the death of the Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair.
But, the automaker has found a workaround for the Corsair, the lowest priced vehicle in Lincoln’s Canadian lineup.
According to various media reports, the 2027 Corsair will be imported to Canada and the United States from China. The compact SUV is also assembled there for the Chinese market.
Corsair goes hybrid-only
A key difference, besides some some design tweaks, is the 2027 Corsair is dropping its internal combustion engine powertrain and will only be offered as a hybrid.
The powertrain features a 2-litre turbocharged engine with electrified support for a total output of 305 hp.
All-wheel drive is standard.
BlueCruise 1.5 available
The 2027 Lincoln Corsair Hybrid also comes standard with BlueCruise 1.5 availability. BlueCruise 1.5 is the automaker’s latest hands-free highway driving technology, which even includes automatic lane change functionality for when the SUV needs to pass a slower vehicle in its lane.
BlueCruise is a subscription-based feature.

Updated design
The design doesn’t change all that much, but there are some visual tweaks to the 2027 model.
The front and rear ends were refreshed to give the Corsair a sportier look.
Up front, there’s a more sculpted hood and grille and redesigned headlights that extend into the grille.
The rear gets integrated Lincoln lettering.
Wheel designs are new, with 18-, 19-, and 20-inch rollers available.
There are also five new colours to choose from. These are: Nocturnal Blue, Tinted Copper, Chroma Flame Red, Manhattan Green, and White Platinum.
A Jet Appearance Package blacks out the silver lining elements for a monochromatic appearance. The package also gives the Reserve grade 20-inch black wheels.

Interior updates
The interior gets a new Stellar Sun theme, along with higher quality materials and new softer one-piece seat designs for improved comfort and support.
The Reserve grade has the availability of 24-way Perfect Position front seats. These offer heating, ventilation and Active Motion massage on both front seats.
The Reserve also gets a Black Satin Ash wood applique, leather-trimmed seats and a uniquely finished headliner.
