Just when you already couldn’t afford a Pagani Huayra, the automaker created an even more exclusive version of the car destined for only a few customers.
The Pagani Huayra 70 Derecho is a “few off” creation that celebrates the 70th birthday of Horacio Pagani, the company’s founder. It is also the second of three Huayra 70 made.
This limited-edition Italian beauty will have its world premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which runs July 9 to 12 at the Goodwood Estate in the United Kingdom.
The car gets its name from the derecho, a storm system that can produce a powerful straight-line, long-lived and fast-moving windstorm.
Pagani Automobili said the name is a reference to the essence of the car, that it’s a “force that advances with continuity, precision, and pure impact without ever deviating from its path.”

Design
The car’s design was created by Pagani’s Grandi Complicazioni division as a bespoke project.
The Pearl Orange and Blue livery was developed to reveal the intricate fish-bone weave of the car’s carbon fibre, Pagani said.

Powertrain
The car is a modern hypercar with a chassis comprising a central monocoque utilizing Pagani’s proprietary materials, including Carbon-Titanium HP62 G2 and Carbo-Triax HP62 with front and rear subframes in Cr-Mo steel, and bodywork panels in carbon fibre.
Yet, the car has an old-school element: a manual transmission.
The car’s Xtrac seven-speed gated manual transmission sends power to the rear-wheel-drive drivetrain with an electromechanical self-locking differential.
The car’s 6-litre twin-turbo V12 engine produces 852 hp (635 kW).
Its top speed is electronically limited at 350 km/h (217.5 mph).
Pagani Automobili didn’t say how much the car costs.
