Canadians are well used to buying imported cars, with vehicles arriving from Europe, Japan, Korea and elsewhere around the world.

But in a bit of a reversal, a Canadian-made car will be exported to Europe.

Stellantis announced that the Dodge Charger, available in gasoline and electric versions, will be exported to Europe.

European order books for the car have already opened.

The Dodge Charger is made at Stellantis’ assembly plant in Windsor, Ont. It is the only facility that produces the muscle car that is available in two- and four-door varieties.

The 2027 Charger is available with an inline six-cylinder engine, called the SIXPACK, which is available with two power outputs, with the R/T getting 420 hp and the Scat Pack getting 550 hp.

There is also the electric Charger Daytona car, which in Europe will be available in R/T and Scat Pack versions as well, offering outputs of 536 hp and 670 hp.

“The next-generation Charger brings Dodge muscle into a new era without losing what made it iconic in the first place: attitude, performance and emotional driving,” said Fabio Catone, head of brand for Dodge in Europe, in a news release. “With both all-electric and gasoline-powered versions, the new Charger gives European customers the power to choose their own expression of muscle performance while remaining true to the DNA that defines Dodge.”

The cars in Europe will be available through an official importer, KWA, and its official dealer network.

Pricing in Europe starts at 66,000 euros.
