Mitsubishi has teased out an all-new Pajero, a rugged body-on-frame SUV.
Canadians will know past iterations of the Pajero by a different name, since it was sold here as the Montero.
Mitsubishi stopped selling the Pajero/Montero in Canada following the 2006 model year and in export markets at the end of 2021.
Now, the storied SUV is set to make a global return after a five-year break.
It is unclear if Canada will get it however.

What is the Pajero?
Mitsubishi’s first Pajero launched in 1982, intended as a recreational vehicle, combining off-road performance and car-like comfort.
In 1983, Mitsubishi began racing the Pajero in the Dakar Rally, where it racked up wins and its legend grew.
The company has sold more than 3.25 million Pajeros in more than 170 countries since its 1982.
Next-gen Pajero
Mitsubishi said the next-generation Pajero will be revealed this fall.
It will ride on the same ladder frame chassis of the Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck.
The Pajero will get a model-specific cabin and front and rear suspension. Mitsubishi said the new Pajero will offer outstanding off-road capability and a refined and comfortable ride.
“The all-new Pajero is being developed as a new flagship model that embodies Mitsubishi Motors’ spirit of adventure and determination to take on challenges,” the automaker said.
