The Nissan Armada full-size SUV is picking up an all-new grade called Dark Armor featuring blacked out and darkened elements.

Nissan designers must be falling in love with the visuals of the Dark Armor grade because the Armada is the second vehicle in the automaker’s Canadian lineup with it. The 2027 Murano is also picking up the Dark Armor trim.

On the Armada, the Dark Armor is just one grade up from the base SL model and costs $3,000 more than the SL.

What does Dark Armor Armada get?

The Dark Armor grade builds on the Armada SL grade and gives the SUV a black and darkened chrome appearance.

Darkened elements include roof rails, window trim, front grille and lower fascia.

The vehicle rides on black 20-inch wheels and has black exterior badges.

The interiors picks up black upholstery and darkened accents for the dashboard, steering wheel and centre console. The Dark Armor trim also has a panoramic moonroof.

Powertrain

The Armada is powered by a twin-turbo, direct-injected 3.5-litre V6 engine.

On most trims, the engine produces 425 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.

This Nismo trim, however, increases power output to 460 hp when using premium fuel. The Nismo model also has a Nismo-tuned suspension, brakes and steering components for a sportier ride.
