Alfa Romeo is discontinuing one of its three vehicles sold here, but says future models are on the way.

The automaker confirmed to this blog the Tonale compact SUV will be discontinued in North America, Canada included, following the 2026 model year.

The vehicle received a fairly significant refresh for 2026 that gave it a new front-end design, new wheels and a wider track, shorter front overhang and other changes.

The automaker said the order intake for Tonale concluded in June, with production for North America scheduled to end in August. There will be no 2027 Tonale offered in North America.

“This decision represents a planned transition phase as the brand aligns its future portfolio with evolving market dynamics,” a Stellantis Canada spokesperson said via email.

Alfa Romeo plans evolution in North America

The automaker said it is implementing an organizational evolution in North America, with the U.S. and Canadian branches of Alfa Romeo coming under the leadership of Andrea Soriani, head of Maserati North America. The evolution is intended to strengthen Alfa Romeo’s positioning and operational effectiveness.

“Alfa Romeo remains fully committed to North America – with Giulia and Stelvio continuing through 2027 – and holds a clear focus on the most relevant premium segments, alongside continued investment in brand desirability following the success of the 33 Stradale,” the spokesperson said.

Stellantis outlined during its investor day on May 21 that Alfa Romeo has several new models planned for its global lineup and these are being assessed for North America.

About the 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale

The Italian-made SUV is powered by a 2-litre turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with 268 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard.

The starting Canadian prices of the 2026 Tonale are as follows:

• Tonale Sprint – $52,290 ($49,995 MSRP)
• Tonale Veloce – $54,795 ($52,500 MSRP)
• Tonale Speciale – $57,290 ($54,995 MSRP)
