The Polestar 2 is back in Canada.

The electric car had been pulled out of Polestar’s Canadian lineup at the tail end of 2025 at a time when Canada had punishing 100 per cent tariffs on electric vehicles made in China.

Canada dropped those tariffs, for up to 49,000 Chinese-made EV imports per year, in early 2026.

The 2027 Polestar 2 went on sale in Canada June 3. Customer deliveries are expected to begin in September.

“With Polestar 2 re-entering the Canadian market alongside Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, the brand now stands strong with a more complete three-car lineup to meet the needs of customers in this ultra-competitive market,” said Hugues Bissonnette, head of Polestar Canada, in a news release. “With over 7,300 Polestar 2s on Canadian roads to date, we know there’s demand from our customers, so it’s with great joy we announce the return of Polestar 2 to Canada.”

The 2027 Polestar 2 has a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $69,900. Various fees and levies bring the starting price to $72,700.

The Polestar 2 is now offered in the Long range Dual motor trim, which features an electric powertrain with 421 hp and 546 lb.-ft. of torque giving it a reported zero to 100 km/h acceleration time of 4.5 seconds.

EPA-estimated range is 447 kilometres.

The 2027 Polestar 2 arrives with an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon core processor chip powering the infotainment system, making it more responsive.
