Lego has been on a roll this year putting out fun new sets for automotive aficionados, and here’s another.

The Lego Group and BMW Group collaborated to create the Lego Speed Champions BMW M3 E30 set.

The set celebrates the 40th anniversary of the original M3 – chassis code E30 – which was available from 1986 to 1991.

This is the first time Lego and BMW teamed up to co-create a Lego set.

About the Lego BMW M3

The M3 in the Speed Champions set is inspired by the BMW M Motorsport division, wearing unique race-inspired livery with blue and red bricks throughout the black and white car.

Up front, you’ll find the M3’s signature kidney grille and four round headlights, while the rear end has the M3’s spoiler.

BMW also created a matching M3 show car to accompany the launch of the Lego set.

A human-sized version of the T-shirt worn by the set’s minifigure will also be available through BMW dealers and BMW’s online store, starting Aug. 1.

The Lego Speed Champions BMW M3 will be available starting Aug. 1. It’s listed with a price of $42.99 in Canada.

The set contains 358 pieces and is 17 centimetres long and seven centimetres wide.
