The Nissan Leaf has been named the 2026 Supreme Winner of the Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year awards.
It was chosen from among six category winners.
This year’s WWCOTY winners were selected by 86 women motoring journalists from 55 countries across five continents.
The awards were created in 2009 by New Zealand’s Sandy Myhre to help give women a voice in the automotive world.
The organizers said the Leaf was the top choice thanks to its coherent and realistic approach to electric mobility, saying it is designed for realistic and accessible everyday use.
“It is perfectly suited to urban driving while offering generous interior space that makes it equally capable on longer journeys. The ride is smooth and comfortable, it features the latest technologies, and, importantly, it has an appealing design,” said juror Tina Vujanovic of Serbia in a news release.
WWCOTY organizers said this year’s awards included top contenders with remarkable parity.
