Don’t try to adjust the colour on your screen, the Land Rover Defender OCTA Black really does look like something out of a black and white picture.
The automaker launched this version of its most powerful Defender variant with more attitude in a monochromatic package.
The 2026 Land Rover Defender OCTA Black trim gains as many as 30 exterior elements finished in black.
Defender OCTA models are 4×4 SUVs powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 626 hp with mild hybrid technology.
OCTA models also get Land Rover’s 6D Dynamics suspension and OCTA Mode for some serious off-road capability.
The Black version gets the same creature comforts as other OCTA models, including Body and Soul Seats up front, which feature a vibro-acoustic technology built into the seats so you can feel the music you’re listening to.

Exterior elements
The OCTA Black models get a satin black powder coat for the front undershield and rear scuff plates, satin black exposed recovery eyes, gloss black tow eye cover at the front and gloss black quad exhaust tips, plus there are other black underbody elements.
The Land Rover oval is also black with silver lettering.
Buyers can choose from 20-inch or 22-inch gloss black wheels, which have black centre caps with Shadow Atlas Defender lettering, and gloss black brake calipers.
The exterior paint finish is called Narvik Black, which Land Rover is the truest black available in the Defender palette.

Interior elements
The interior gets ebony semi-aniline leather with Kvadrat, which performance seats finished in a unique perforation pattern and a new stitching detail on the backrests. The seat backs and armrest hinges are finished in Carpathian Grey.
The cross car beam gets a satin black powder coat, and interior details can be finished in an optional chopped carbon fibre.
Land Rover didn’t provide pricing for the new model. For reference, a 2025 Land Rover Defender OCTA has a starting Canadian price of $195,940, which includes an MSRP of $175,000, plus fees, levies and luxury tax.
