The 2027 Nissan Z is nearly here and now we know the refreshed sports car’s Canadian prices.

Nissan Canada announced the prices on July 21 ahead of the car’s arrival later this summer.

The starting price for the base Sport trim drops by $1,000 to a new manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $49,998.

While the base model drops in price, the Performance and Nismo models are both seeing price increases of $1,000.

New for 2027, the Nismo model will have have a six-speed manual transmission option available, whereas before it had only been available with a nine-speed automatic.

Starting Canadian prices

The starting Canadian prices of the 2027 Nissan Z, including estimated fees and levies, are as follows:

• Sport – $52,962 (MSRP of $49,998)
• Performance – $65,962 (MSRP of $62,998)
• Nismo – $79,962 (MSRP of $76,998)

Each of the three trims is available with either a nine-speed automatic or six-speed manual and the price is the same regardless of transmission. Fees, levies and selling price may vary by location.

Powertrain

The two-seater is a lightweight rear-wheel-drive sports car powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 400 hp in the Sport and Performance trims and 420 hp in the Nismo model.

Nissan said the Nismo model is gaining the six-speed manual transmission due to customer demand.

The Nismo also has a shorter shift ratio and an upgraded clutch to complement the car’s track-ready capability, including revisions to its suspension, braking and bodywork and increased engine power.

The 2027 Z Nismo also has lighter, two-piece, iron-aluminum brake rotors, which were derived from the Nissan GT-R. They save 19 pounds.

Improved cooling channels on the rotors help lower brake pad temperature during track use.

New heritage-inspired design

The Sport and Performance trims get a new heritage-inspired design. A new body-colour bar cuts through the front grille and the new “Z” emblem replaces the former Nissan logo on the nose of every trim of the car.

The Performance version also gets new forged 19-inch wheels with black spokes and a machined-finish rim.

The new Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic exterior colour was inspired by the original S30 generation of the Nissan Z. This colour is paired exclusively with a Super Black roof.

The Performance trim also gets a new tan interior upholstery option.

Other changes

Furthermore the 2027 Z Performance gets larger-diameter shock absorbers to enhance stability and damping capability.

Additionally, all models get a new fuel tank design that helps maintain fuel delivery and engine performance during sustained, high-speed track cornering.
