McLaren is capping off a series of supercars with a limited-edition car.
The automaker revealed the 788HS, which is marks the final evolution of the 720S, 750S and 765LT series of supercars.
The car is limited to just 200 units globally and is available in coupe and spider (convertible) body styles.
The 788 in the name signifies the car’s power output of 788 PS, which works out to 777 hp for us in Canada. The car also gets 590 lb.-ft. of torque.
The car is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine.
Thanks to the car’s dry weight of 1,265 kilograms, the 788HS delivers a power-to-weight ratio of 623 PS per tonne, which is the highest in the series.

More aero than the rest
McLaren set out to make the car more capable on the track with an enhanced aerodynamic package.
Downforce has increased by 10 per cent compared to the 765LT.
The HS in the name signifies the “High Sport” designation, which McLaren has only used on two previous production models, the MP4-12C HS and the MSO HS.
“The new McLaren 788HS has been designed and engineered with a singular focus; to deliver a visceral experience and captivating drive through its precise balance of performance, sound, dynamism and individuality. It represents the ultimate expression of our supercar series that began with the 720S and becomes only the third McLaren to wear our HS designation – a fitting finale for a much loved and critically acclaimed car,” McLaren Automotive chief commercial officer Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer said in a news release.
