The Kia Seltos, one of the automaker’s top-selling vehicles, is all new for 2027, with bolder design, more space and new features.

It also gets a bigger sticker price.

The 2027 Kia Seltos has a starting Canadian manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $28,495, that’s $2,400 more than on the outgoing 2026 model.

Once fees and levies are factored in, the starting Canadian price rises to about $31,858.

The second-generation Seltos raises the bar in the subcompact SUV segment by including various advanced driver assistance systems and includes features typically found in higher-end vehicles.

It also has more cabin and cargo space than the first-gen Seltos, and more screen real estate.

Powertrain choices

The second-gen Seltos will have three powertrain choices.

The standard version features a 2-litre four-cylinder engine with an intelligent variable transmission. This version gets 147 hp and 132 lb.-ft. of torque and either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Fuel economy on FWD models is rated at (city/highway/combined) 8.5/7.0/7.8 L/100 km, while AWD models get 9.1/7.8/8.5 L/100 km.

Next up is a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine mated with an eight-speed automatic. This unit gets you 190 hp and 195 lb.-ft. of torque, all-wheel drive, and a fuel efficiency rating of 9.9/7.8/9.0 L/100 km.

The third option, a hybrid, will be offered later. The hybrid will pair a 1.6-litre engine, a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and will feature e-AWD.

Canadian prices

The starting Canadian prices on the 2027 Kia Seltos are as follows:

• LX FWD 2.0L – $31,858 (MSRP of $28,495 plus fees and levies)
• LX AWD 2.0L – $33,858 (MSRP of $30,495)
• FX AWD 2.0L – $36,858 (MSRP of $33,495)
• FX Premium AWD 2.0L – $40,158 (MSRP of $36,795)
• X-Line AWD 1.6L Turbo-GDI – $42,658 (MSRP of $39,295)
• X-Line Limited AWD 1.6L Turbo-GDI – $44,658 (MSRP of $42,295)

The ICE versions are available to order now, while the hybrid-powered Seltos will arrive near the end of this year.
