Infiniti set to launch all-new QX65

The QX65 should be a sportier version of the QX60, reminiscent of the old Infiniti FX sport utility vehicles.

The folks at Infiniti appear to have remembered what made the brand special in the ’90s and early 2000s.

Nissan’s upscale brand was more than just a luxury brand in the early days. It also had a reputation of being a sporty brand.

Now, Infiniti, as part of its “product renaissance,” is set to debut a new SUV that should remind observers of the old FX35, which had been available from 2003 to 2012.

On March 26, the brand will debut the 2027 Infiniti QX65.

It is the first time since 2021 the brand is launching a new vehicle nameplate.

The QX65 is likely a sportier version of the current QX60. Unlike the QX60 midsize SUV, which is available in six- or seven-seat configurations, the QX65 will sport a sloping roofline and have two rows of seating, not three.

We already got to see a bit of a preview of the upcoming new sporty vehicle when Infiniti showcased a QX65 Monograph concept vehicle.

While the above concept vehicle may not be an exact copy of the upcoming QX65, it gives us a good idea of the direction Infiniti is taking with its sporty midsize SUV.

“The all-new 2027 Infiniti QX65 stands out with a sporty fastback profile inspired by the spirit of the iconic FX, a cabin shaped by thoughtful hospitality, and responsive, rewarding performance. Designed for the heart of the midsize luxury segment, QX65 reflects Infiniti’s legacy of challenging convention,” the company said in a news release.

The 2027 QX65 is expected to arrive at Canadian and U.S. Infiniti dealerships in early summer 2026. It will have its first public display at the New York International Auto Show from April 3 to 12.
