Canada getting semi-exclusive BMW M340i 50 Jahre Edition

The special-edition 3 Series, limited to 100 cars in Canada, is more than just a fancy paint job.

A unique BMW 3 Series is coming to Canada, but this one will be limited to just 100 units.

The 2026 BMW M340i xDrive 50 Jahre Edition, unveiled by BMW Canada on Oct. 31, is meant to celebrate the heritage of the 3 Series, which launched 50 years ago in 1975.

And, it’s exclusive to Canada, sort of. Other countries are also getting special 50th anniversary 3 Series cars, but the colours and content vary country to country.

A striking element of the Canadian cars is their exterior colours, but the 50 Jahre Edition models are more than just a fancy paint job.

Unique 50 Jahre Edition elements

Besides fancy paint schemes, the cars also get exclusive 50 Jahre Edition details, including 20-inch forged M Performance wheels, an M Performance exhaust system and BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery on the inside.

The cars also get special 50 Jahre Edition badges on the door sills, rear and an interior plaque.

Then there are the colour options.

The 50 Jahre Edition cars have a choice of six BMW Individual Manufaktur colours, one for each previous 3 Series generation.

In Canada, the options are Madeira Red Metallic, Laguna Green Metallic, Avus Blue Metallic, Carbon Black Metallic, Deep Green Metallic and Citrin Black Metallic.

Powertrain

The car is powered by BMW’s 3-litre TwinPower Turbo inline-six B58 engine, with power sent to the xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

The car produces 386 hp and 398 lb.-ft. of torque.

BMW said the car will accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.

The B58 engine also powers the limited-edition 2026 BMW 540i xDrive Legacy Edition.

BMW said the engine has smooth power delivery and strong torque across the rev range.

Canadian availability

The special-edition cars will begin production in Germany this month (November 2025).
