Mitsubishi has been promising to greatly increase its lineup between now and 2030 and is giving us a glimpse at what’s coming up next year.
The company announced Oct. 14 that it plans to launch a new off-road-focused version of the Outlander – the SUV is the company’s most popular vehicle today.
The new rugged Outlander will launch in late 2026.
This launch will come shortly after the company introduces an all-new battery-electric vehicle, expected to arrive in Canada in the late summer of 2026. The new EV is based on the newest Nissan Leaf.
The company has only provided teasers of the two new models.
For the new rugged Outlander model, the company said it will feature off-road-specific bodywork, off-road-focused drive modes and performance upgrades along with unique interior styling and materials.
“This vehicle will take the company’s legendary Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive system, honed from Mitsubishi Motors’ 12 wins on the legendary Dakar Rally and on the muddy tracks of the World Rally Championship, to the next level, allowing families to explore further beyond where the pavement ends,” Mitsubishi said in a news release.
Further details will be announced ahead of the new Outlander’s arrival.
