Our friends in the United States will soon lose access to the Nissan Ariya, but the all-electric crossover SUV is not going away in Canada.

Nissan Canada confirmed to this blog the recent news of the EV being discontinued for the 2026 model year pertains only to the U.S. market.

“The Nissan Ariya will remain available in Canada alongside the all-new 2026 Nissan Leaf,” Nissan Canada said in an email.

Reporting in the U.S. suggests Nissan is shifting its resources from Ariya production to focus on the all-new 2026 Leaf, which shares the same platform as the Ariya.

Keep in mind also, the Ariya is imported from Japan, therefore it is subject to new import tariffs in the U.S.

Canadian pricing for the 2026 Nissan Ariya hasn’t been announced yet.

What is the Nissan Ariya?

The Ariya is Nissan’s premium electric crossover.

For the current model year (2025), the SUV is available with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive powertrains and with battery options of 63 kWh and 87 kWh.

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the 2025 model starts at $49,998 in Canada – that’s before any fees and levies.

Versions of the SUV with the larger battery and front-wheel drive have an estimated driving range of up to 465 kilometres.
