Land Rover has become a bit of a luxury SUV brand in recent decades, but the automaker is looking to its heritage to remind us to its adventurous origins.
The automaker has launched a new version of its Defender, which itself recalls the glory African adventure days.
The new variant, the Defender Trophy Edition, is inspired by the Trophy and Challenge events of the past.
Not only that, Land Rover is launching a new Defender Trophy competition, intended to give participants an adventure of a lifetime.

Defender Trophy Edition
The Trophy Edition SUV is based on the Defender 110 body style.
The SUV is available in one of two colours, Deep Sandglow Yellow or Keswick Green, and features contrasting a gloss black finish on the hood (or bonnet as the British say), lower bodyside, brake calipers and rear recovery eyes.
Buyers can also choose an optional matte protective film to help protect the paintwork should you decide to take your Trophy Edition out on an adventure.
The Trophy Edition rides on 20-inch alloy wheels and all-terrain tires.
There are also a dark rear scuff plate, gloss black wheel arch protection and a black front undershield.

Other highlights
Trophy decals can be found on the hood, C-pillar and rear end.
The Trophy Edition vehicles also get special illuminated tread plates with Trophy written on them, and the seats get ebony Windsor leather, meant to be both luxurious and tough.
The exposed cross bar beam on the inside is finished in the same colour as the exterior.

Optional accessories
Buyers can add an Expedition roof rack, for more stowage capability and a black deployable roof ladder for easier access to the roof, a gloss black side-mounted gear carrier, front and rear classic mud flaps, and a raised air intake.
The Defender 110 Trophy Edition is available to order in the U.K. already, where it has a starting price of £89,810.
Canadian market details haven’t been announced. Visit the Land Rover Canada website for updates.
