Consumer reports has released the list of 10 new cars, sport utility vehicles and trucks it recommends in 2025.
Consumer Reports is a non-profit U.S. consumer organization that does independent consumer testing.
The 10 Top Picks of 2025 list includes vehicle models from popular categories, from compact car to luxury SUV.
Vehicles named to the list achieved “exceptional results” in road-test performance and safety, Consumer Reports said, and they all come standard with low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and highway-speed automatic emergency braking. All 10 vehicles also share one other common trait: “predicted reliability.”
Consumer Reports picks are:
- Small car – Nissan Sentra
- Midsize car – Toyota Camry
- Subcompact SUV – Subaru Crosstrek
- Compact SUV – Subaru Forester
- Fuel-efficient SUV – Toyota RAV4 PHEV
- Midsize SUV – Toyota Highlander Hybrid
- Luxury compact SUV – Lexus NX350h and NX450h+
- Luxury midsize SUV – BMW X5 and X5 PHEV
- Electric vehicle – Tesla Model Y
- Small pickup – Ford Maverick and Maverick Hybrid
