Korean automaker Kia is going all in on electric vehicles.
The company unveiled several new models at its 2025 Kia EV Day, which was held in Spain.
Launched models include the EV4, PV5 and Concept EV2. Kia noted the EV4 is planned for the North American market.
“Kia remains committed to becoming the world’s leading EV brand and sustainable mobility solutions provider by enhancing the options and experiences we offer our customers,” said Kia president and CEO Ho Sung Song in a news release. “With models like the Kia EV4 and the vision shown in the Kia Concept EV2, we strive to democratize EV ownership, making the benefits of sustainable mobility solutions open to everyone.”

Kia EV4
The EV4 is a four-door car, available as either a sedan or hatchback, built on Kia’s 400V Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).
Kia said the car would play in the C-segment (midsize), giving customers an option other than SUVs or crossovers.
Kia said the car would be available with battery capacities of 58.3 kWh or 81.4 kWh in long-range models. Based on WLTP (European) standards, it would have an estimated driving range of 630 kilometres.
With a 201-hp electric motor powering the front wheels, the car could accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds.

Kia said the car has an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd and full underbody covers for optimized aerodynamic performance. Additionally, Kia said advanced chassis technology is designed for top-tier ride comfort, refinement and dynamic ability.
“Kia EV Day shows our vision for a sustainable future where electric mobility is accessible to all. The EV4 embodies that vision perfectly as a statement of our commitment to innovative design, cutting-edge technology, and a connected driving experience that excites and inspires. The EV4 marks a significant step forward in our electrification journey, offering advanced technology and a choice of body styles for drivers seeking a seamless transition to electric mobility,” Song said.
The EV4 sedan will be built in Korea while the hatchback, primarily intended for the European market will be built in Slovakia. Sales in Korean are expected to start in March while the European launch is expected in the second half of this year. North American sales are expected to start after that.

Kia Concept EV2
The Concept EV2 is Kia’s vision for the B-segment SUV segment.
The small SUV would provide a spacious multi-configurable interior and rear-hinged rear doors.
“The Kia Concept EV2 represents a bold step forward for the future of urban mobility,” Song said. “With the Concept EV2, we challenged ourselves to create a vehicle that defies expectations, offering innovative technology and practicality beyond its size. This concept previews Kia’s future vision to redefine the segment, bringing a new level of sophistication and usability to urban drivers. It’s a clear signal of our dedication to making electric vehicles truly accessible for everyone.”

Kia PV5
The PV5 is a midsize car-based van and will be offered in three styles: passenger, cargo and chassis cab. It is 4,695 mm long.
The passenger version offers three rows of seating and can be optimized for luggage or camping scenarios and Kia said the van was designed with ride-hailing (taxi/Uber/etc.) uses in mind.
The second-row seats have reclining and folding capabilities. With a flat floor, the van can also be used for moving things.
It’s unclear if this vehicle is coming to Canada. Kia said the PV5 will go on sale in Korean and Europe in the second half of the year, while other markets will get it in 2026.
