The Hemi V8 has been dropped from many automotive lines, but its life continues in the Dodge Durango three-row SUV.

The automaker announced the Hemi V8 will continue to power the Durango through the 2025 model year, and Canadians can purchase one already.

“The Dodge Durango and the Hemi engine form a powerful pair, and Dodge will continue to produce the most powerful gas engine SUV on the planet into the 2025 calendar year,” said Matt McAlear, Ceo of the Dodge division at Stellantis, in a news release. “It’s the perfect capstone for our celebration of 20 years of Hemi-powered Durango models.”

There are two Hemi V8 options available in 2025.

The first is a 5.7-litre Hemi V8, which is standard on the Durango R/T, producing 360 hp and 390 lb.-ft. of torque.

Then there’s the Hellcat. All Hellcat models get a 6.2-litre Hemi V8 that produces 710 hp and 645 lb.-ft. of torque.
