Volkswagen Canada is auctioning off an all-new ID. Buzz all-electric microbus with proceeds going to charity. And the winner will be among the first Canadians with the new VW Bus.
The virtual nationwide auction supports Campfire Circle, a Canadian charity that offers camping experiences to children with cancer or serious illnesses and for their families.
The auction opens on Oct. 30 at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time and bidding closes on Nov. 13 at noon.
The ID. Buzz is launching in Canada and the United States for the 2025 model year. It is a recreation of the retro VW Bus, but in an all-electric form and offering three rows of seating. It has already been available in Europe for a few years.
“Volkswagen isn’t just about cars, it’s about the unforgettable experiences and memories to be had behind the wheel,” said Volkswagen Canada president Edgar Estrada in a news release. “Whether it’s a cross-country road trip, the nostalgic charm of a perfectly restored classic Bus, or participation in one of the many fan-driven festivals, meetups and dedicated online forums, these stories are woven into the fabric of our brand. With the ID. Buzz coming to Canadian roads, we’re excited to write the next chapter with our VW community – with an all-electric twist.”

“We’re thrilled and delighted to be joining our Volkswagen Canada partners for the launch of a truly unforgettable vehicle,” said Campfire Circle CEO Alex Robertson in the release. “We’re constantly overwhelmed by Volkswagen’s commitment to our organization, and we look forward to kicking off this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for one lucky person to get behind the wheel of an iconic EV while lending a helping hand to the kids and families we support.”
The vehicle being auctioned is a 2025 ID. Buzz 1st Edition 4MOTION model, which has a Canadian price of $86,495 as well as an ID. Buzz-branded prize package, which includes an ID. Buzz-branded standup paddle board, two ID. Buzz-branded ParkIT camping chairs and exclusive Volkswagen merchandise.
The ID. Buzz 1st Edition 4MOTION model has 335 hp and dual-motor all-wheel drive, as well as second-row captain’s chairs for a total of six seats.
