BMW M has created a vehicle that would make for a fine poster addition to any kid’s bedroom wall with the all-out-speed variant of its already sporty M4.
The 2025 BMW M4 CS features a 3L twin turbo inline-six-cylinder engine pumping out 543 hp, which, combined with all-wheel-drive, propels the vehicle from zero to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, the automaker announced.
But the M4 CS is much more than a car you take to the drag strip. Through chassis tuning unique to the CS and a targeted weight reduction through extensive use of carbon fibre reinforced plastic, the car was built to attack the bends. During testing at Nürburgring’s 12.9-mile Nordschleife circuit, the M4 CS recorded an official, notarized lap time of 7:21.99.
Access to this car is not cheap however.
BMW Group Canada announced the Canadian price for the car starts at $150,000.
Production is scheduled to begin in Dingolfing, Germany in July with a global debut set to take place Friday, May 10. Order books will be open from the end of May, the automaker said.
The engine is a more powerful version of the S58 that was developed for the M3/M4 cars (which are rated at 473 and 523 hp, depending on variant chosen). To get the extra 20 horses over the M4 Competition Coupe, the automaker revised the engine’s M TwinPower Turbo technology without concessions to stability or durability, BMW said. The adjustments primarily involved raising the maximum boost pressure of the two mono-scroll turbochargers to 30.5 psi, and by altering the engine management parameters.
Peak torque of 479 lb.-ft. of torque is available between 2,750 and 5,950 rpm. Maximum power comes at 6,250 rpm and the redline comes at 7,200 rpm.

Here are some acceleration numbers, as reported by BMW:
- Zero to 100 km/h – 3.4 seconds
- Zero to 200 km/h – 11.1 seconds
- 80 to 120 km/h in fourth gear – 2.6 seconds
- 80 to 120 km/h in fifth gear – 3.3 seconds
The top speed with the standard M Driver’s Package is electronically limited to 302 km/h.
All that power is sent to the wheels via an eight speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. Drivelogic allows the driver to alter the transmission’s shift characteristics, anywhere from between comfort to high-performance driving.
The M division gave the car specific tuning for the chassis technology, including individually tuned axle kinematics and unique wheel camber settings, dampers, auxiliary springs, and anti-roll bars optimize steering precision, transmission of lateral control forces when cornering, spring and damping response, and wheel location.

Electronically controlled dampers on the suspension are specifically tuned for the CS as is the electromechanical M Servotronic steering with variable ratio and the integrated braking system.
Lightweight carbon fibre reinforced plastic helps improve the performance of the car. The carbon fibre roof helps lower weight and brings the car’s centre of gravity lower too.
The hood, front splitter, front air intakes, exterior mirror caps, rear diffuser, and Gurney-style rear spoiler are also made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic.
The M4 CS weighs about 35 kilograms less than the M4 Competition Coupe with M xDrive.
Even though the M4 CS is built for speed, you can still find plenty of comfort features inside and there’s seating for four.
