There are many reasons to check out the Canadian International AutoShow, but here are some highlights we look forward to seeing the most.

Rimac Nevera

One of the highlights of the 2024 event is the Rimac Nevera, which is described as the quickest car in the world. This will be the first this car will be seen at an auto show in Canada, presented by Toronto luxury car dealer Grand Touring Automobiles.

This 1,914 hp car designed, engineered and handcrafted in Croatia can sprint to 100 km/h in 1.81 seconds, 300 km/h in less than 10 seconds and has a top speed of 412 km/h.

Super luxury

While the Rimac Nevera will certainly grab attention, the auto show will be full of vehicles from what auto show organizers call super luxury brands.

These include Lamborghini, Bugatti, Pininfarina, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Zagato, The Little Car Company and Himalaya.

Vintage vehicles

The Cobble Beach Classics showcase is back in 2024. This showcase, presented by Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance, is always a fan-favourite, showcasing some of the most exciting vehicles form the past. This year, the Cobble Beach Classics showcase features:

  • 1929 Bentley Speed Six Sport Tourer
  • 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Grand Sport
  • 1932 Stutz Super Bearcat
  • 1932 Marmon Sixteen Convertible Coupe
  • 1936 Peugeot 402 Darl’mat Special Sports Roadster
  • 1957 Ferrari 250 LWB Tour de France
  • 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra
  • 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500KR Convertible
  • 1971 Pontiac Pegasus Concept
  • 1980 Lamborghini Countach LP400S “Lowbody”

New cars

While supercars and uber-expensive classics are fun to look it and admire, they are not for most people to buy. The main event of the auto show is a showcase of what’s new and currently or soon-to-be available to buy.

This year’s auto show will feature 30 automotive brands spread out over 650,000 square feet of exhibit space.

“With so many of Canada’s leading automotive brands in one place, the auto show is the ideal starting point for the car-buying journey,” said auto show general manager Jason Campbell in a news release.

For the kids

The show is not just for mom and dad who want to see and feel their next car. There’s something for children too.

There will be installations by Lego and Mattel. The highlight of the Mattel showcase will be a life-size 1957 Chevy Corvette pink Barbie car, as well as several life-sized Hot Wheels cars.

The auto show runs from Feb. 16 to 25 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
