Toronto’s Green P parking lots will offer a free boost for drivers of electric vehicles during Earth Week.

The Toronto Parking Authority, which operates the city’s Green P parking lots, said its 500-plus EV charging stations will offer free charging from April 20 to 24.

“EV adoption in Toronto has surged 380 per cent in the last six years, yet we recognize that convenient access to charging stations remains a priority for drivers,” said Jarrett McDonald, vice president of pperations at Toronto Parking Authority, in a news release.

“By building a reliable, citywide charging network with our partners at Toronto Hydro, Flo and ChargePoint, we are positioning Toronto to be one of the most EV-accessible cities in Canada.”

About Green P EV charging

The city’s charge network comprises mostly of Level 2 and Level 1 chargers.

The parking authority announced that it is installing its first 100-kW Level 3 fast-chargers this year at Carpark 43, located at 2 Church St.

Additionally, TPA is installing 10 more on-street Level 2 chargers in the first half of 2026 and plans to install hundreds more over the next two years.

The operators of Green P also plan to integrate EV charging into the Green P app this year. This integration will allow EV drivers to find nearby chargers, start a charge session and monitor their charge. More than three million drivers already use the app.
