Chrysler Pacifica gets a face lift as Canadian sales heat up

The made-in-Canada minivan experienced a sales boom in the first three months of 2026, and now the company is updating the country’s top-selling minivan.

The Chrysler Pacifica, which experienced a sales boom in Canada through the first three months of 2026, is getting an update.

Stellantis announced the made-in-Canada Pacifica remained the top-selling minivan in the country when its January to March sales increased by 256 per cent compared to the same period in 2025, coming in with 4,008 units. This comes after the model sold 10,671 units through all of 2025, almost double its previous year.

Only the company’s Ram pickup trucks outsold the Pacifica in the first quarter of 2026.

Just a note on this: the Pacifica’s sales rise was reported in Canada; its sales decreased by 33 per cent in the United States, coming in at 21,804 units sold during the first quarter of 2026 south of the border.

At this time, the Pacifica keeps the Chrysler brand churning as it greatly outsells its siblings, the Grand Caravan in Canada and Voyager in the U.S.

Chrysler is not resting on the Pacifica’s relative success as it is updating the minivan for the 2027 model year.

The minivan is not entering a new generation. It is getting a refresh of the current generation, which includes a new face and features.

Exterior changes

The biggest visual cue to the 2027 Pacifica is in its front fascia.

The new front-end on the Pacifica gets vertical LED headlights and an illuminated grille with a unique “piano keys” signature lighting.

Other changes include a new Chrysler wing logo and rear liftgate applique, new exterior colour options and new wheel designs.

The Grand Caravan, which is essentially an entry-level trim of the Pacifica, retains its existing looks for 2027, so there will be further model separation between the two minivans.

Interior changes

The interior gets new accents and a Chrysler wing badge in satin chrome on the steering wheel, which are intended to elevate the interior.

The top-of-the-line Pinnacle trim gets a new exclusive Blue Agave interior colour and new finishes, including copper alloy accent bezels. There is also a dark platinum deco trim on the instrument panel.

The Pinnacle seats also get a new Parquet perforation pattern and Tungsten Patina piping.

All trims of the Pacifica also pick up a adjustable-height power liftgate.

More standard safety features

The 2027 Pacifica picks up what Chrysler calls the Safety Sphere Package, which is optional on the Select and Limited trims and standard on Pinnacle models.

This updated safety features includes a turn signal-activated blind-spot view, which displays a live camera view of the adjacent lane on the centre screen. It also includes Park-Sense-based camera activation, which automatically triggers the appropriate camera view when the vehicle’s sensors detect an object, to help drivers avoid the hazard.

Greater technology choice

Chrysler is giving buyers greater flexibility on what technology features are packaged into their minivan by decoupling the former Uconnect Theatre Group into the Family Tech Group and the Theatre Group.

The Family Tech Group includes an upgraded audio system, Uconnect 5 NAV with a 10.1-inch display, eight-way power front passenger seat, and additional power outlets and USB ports. It also includes a FamCAM interior camera, which gives the front-seat occupants a view of the rear-seat passengers, including a zoom-to-seat function that allows them to see children in rear-facing seats.

The Theatre Group provides rear-seat entertainment, including streaming capability with a built-in Amazon Fire TV, remote, seatback video screens and media inputs.

Powertrain

The Pacifica retains the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine with 287 hp and 262 lb.-ft. of torque. The automaker made no mention of the former plug-in hybrid option.

The Pacifica has available all-wheel drive.

An available Trailer Tow Group offers a 1,632-kilogram (3,600-pound) towing capacity.

Stow ‘n Go seats

The Pacifica’s claim to fame is its Stow ‘n Go seat and storage system.

These seats debuted back in 2005 and remain innovative to this day. The second- and third-row seats are able to hide right into the floor, giving the Pacifica access to a flat floor with a cargo area of 3,964 litres.

When the seats are up in their usual position, the seat storage areas double as under-floor storage bins, offering more cargo space.

These seats are included in the Grand Caravan, as well as the Select and Limited trims of the Pacifica. The top-of-the-line Pinnacle trim only gets Stow ‘n Go seats in the third row, while the second-row seats are removable. This is because the Pinnacle trim gets a larger integrated console and premium captain’s chairs in the second row.

Canadian availability

The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica, as well as the Grand Caravan, will arrive at Canadian dealerships this summer.

Canadian pricing hasn’t been announced yet.
