Porsche set to reveal another 911 variant

Porsche is set to reveal yet another variant of its 911 sports car this month.

The German sports car maker launched the current 992.2 generation of the 911 in mid-2024 and has since been releasing new variants every few months. It’s called the 992.2 because it’s a refresh of the 992, which launched in 2018.

Porsche typically offers 20-plus different versions of the 911 and we’re still missing a few model designations that had been available on previous-gen 911s.

For example, the newest Turbo S launched in September 2025, but we’re still without the standard Turbo.

The automaker has launched a 992.2-generation GT3 variant but the current GT3 RS dates back to the 992 generation of cars.

There are also no GT2 models currently available.

In teasing the new model, the automaker said this latest car is “pure driving pleasure.”

“A particularly fun sports car from Zuffenhausen is in the starting blocks,” a news release said.

Furthermore, the company said well-known car experts tested the car on mountain roads in Tenerife, Spain; however, the company did not tell them what car they were driving.

The big reveal is coming on April 14.
