
The Dodge Durango R/T is arriving with a more powerful Hemi V8 engine for the 2026 model year.
The automaker announced that the company’s 392-cubic-inch V8 Hemi is standard on the 2026 Durango R/T 392 Launch Edition.
The 6.4-litre engine pumps out 475 hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque.
Compared to the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 found in the 2025 Durango R/T, those are increases of 115 hp and 80 lb.-ft. of torque.
Zero to 60 mph acceleration improves to 4.4 seconds from 6.2 seconds.
Furthermore, towing capacity is increased by 20 per cent to 3,946 kilograms (8,700 pounds).
The 5.7-litre Hemi is still available, but on the GT model which slots in below the R/T.
“The new Durango R/T 392 Launch Edition instantly sets the value-performance benchmark for three-row SUVs,” Dodge CEO Matt McAlear said in a news release. “As the only muscle SUV of its kind – with a heart-pounding 4.4-second 0-60 and an NHRA-certified 12.9-second quarter-mile – the Durango R/T 392 brings authentic Dodge muscle to more drivers than ever.”

Interior
The big SUV has more than just gobs of power.
On the inside, occupants are treated to Nappa leather and suede seats with SRT seat bolsters for cornering support. The front seats are also heated and ventilated.
The second-row captain’s chairs offer heating.

Exterior
The exterior of the Durango R/T 392 Launch Edition gets body-colour flares for a more muscular stance, red “392” badging, a distinctive spoiler and more.
This model rides on 20-inch wheels that are 10 inches wide, wearing Pirelli Scorpion Zero Run-Flat 295 tires.
Buyers can also choose the Blacktop Package for a darkened look, including 20-inch Lights Out wheels, black exhaust tips, gloss black exterior badges and other elements.
The SUV also has five stripes options, which are available in Bright Blue, Carbon Fibre, Flame Red, Low Gloss Gunmetal and Sterling Silver colours.
Other options include a trailer tow package and three-season tires.

Durango powertrain choices
The Durango is available with more than just the 6.4-litre Hemi.
Buyers can also choose models with a V6 or a more powerful SRT Hellcat V8.
The 2026 Dodge Durango lineup includes the following trims:
- Durango GT (V6) – 295 hp and 260 lb.-ft; it starts at $64,890 ($62,595 MSRP, plus additional fees)
- Durango GT Hemi AWD (5.7-litre) – 360 hp; it start at $77,690 ($75,395 MSRP, plus additional fees)
- Durango R/T 392 – 475 hp; Canadian pricing to be announced later
- Durango SRT Hellcat – 710 hp; it starts at $140,390 ($134,495 MSRP, plus additional fees)
- Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak – this builds on the model above and offers more than 13 million customization options
